Oups, I think Wordpress doesn't like links, it was broken... Sorry about that.
Is it a view from your home?

yeah, in t he comment number 3 I should have put the link to the "a href" environemnt perhaps. but I've really added an "img src=..." text to the comment No 2.

no. hm. why have you decided it is a view from my home? :)
you write about energy waste by means of unneeded illuminations, so it was just a kind of "yes, they do it" message )

this is a view from the center of Lahti (a town in Finland). these illuminated towers actually change colour and are more beautiful then on the picture. seems like they've been illiminated just for people to make pictures of them )

I think html source code cannot be added on comments in this blog.
So I removed your "img" was removed. And your link in the third comment was replaced by a simple text, with a newline at the middle of the url.
So I corrected it adding an "link" world.

I don't know why I think it was a view from your home... But you're right, it's a good example of bad use of lights in a city...

Thanks for this image...

my mind is simpler :) I only don't like when people waste water (I mean clean water, like not turning it off during shaving) and heat (because the aforementioned water is warm) . as for our city, I believe, getting rid of old systems of heating water and making people turning off water while they are shaving or cooking and so on will save orders of magnitude more power then turning off all the neon lights. the next thing is transportation. the next one --- the materials that need a lot of energy to be manufactured, like steel at least... or to be recycled.

there is also another interesting question which has arisen for me when I've been reading some of your posts about Bresil. you talked about "des objets jetables" --- this means the things that are used only once an then recycle, right? a question is --- what is the difference between energy wasted for washing non-jetable dishes and that one wasted for recycling the jetables dishes. yet another question --- aren't all these wastings just ridiculously small compared to the jet plain power consumption.

and yeah I can give you pictures from inside or outside my home if you want )) not very fast cause I've loosed my camera, but I can
